Where the Faraway Tree Used to Be showcases a series of installations that reference various stories and adventures from childhood.
The exhibition brings together two individual bodies of work from emerging artists, Chelsea Arthur and Crystal McLaughlin. As a way of further exploring the exhibition’s premise, Chelsea Arthur and Crystal McLaughlin have collaborated to create two new artworks as a response to the exhibition’s focus, as well as developing innovative approaches to their art making through the experience of exchange.
Through the creation of these works, the artists approached the idea of connection to places and landscapes from childhood. Whether memories or perceptions, when revisiting these places, they discovered much had changed.
