It's Still Life
A vibrant exhibition that focuses on contemporary community issues.
While Sydney is gearing up and celebrating the Mardi Gras, we will be hosting "It's Still Life", an exhibition by local artist Barry Johansen.
According to Barry Johansen, there need to be positive role models, regardless of gender issues.
On show will be works comprising Barry's time in Brisbane, with some of its iconic landmarks, but the emphasis will be on his reflections of contemporary issues such as online dating, and the demands for marriage equality in Australian society.
Barry Johansen was born and raised in Dalby, but has lived in Brisbane for the past 25 years. His studies in fashion design have led him to an art style also embraced by British artist David Hockney, which makes full use of digital technology, creating artworks on an iPad.
The exhibition commences on the 4th of March and closes on the 8th April 2017.
Barry will be hosting digital workshops on how to create art on an iPad or Android tablet during the exhibition.
